The current university league tables of the Centre for Higher Educational Development (CHE) in cooperation with the newspaper Die Zeit (6th May edition) place ESB Business School in first place for Business Studies.  In this survey of all schools in Germany, ESB achieved first position for all criteria: reputation of the professors, library standards, practical orientation, services to students and general student satisfaction.  ESB and the University of Mannheim were the only schools to achieve these results for Business Studies.  " We are very pleased that our many years of experience in International Business Studies, the high level of education offered, and our focus on practical business issues have been reflected in the results of this reputable survey," said Professor Ottmar Schneck, Dean of ESB.  The results are based on a survey of students and professors in all departments at all universities.  Reutlingen has approximately 2,250 students enrolled in 20 Business and Engineering Management programmes.

In addition to sound academic training, ESB places special emphasis on practical international issues in its very successful dual degree programmes.  Semesters abroad and international work-experience placements are in an integral part of the study programmes.  Workshops, case studies, a corporate support association, research for graduation theses carried out in cooperation with companies, a career centre, company contact fairs on campus, professors with managerial experience, and an active alumni network with more than 3,300 members ensure that our study programmes stay in close touch with the real world of business.  "No Assessment Centre is better than spending three months working on a project in a company," said Professor Ottmar Schneck.  There are also many seminars designed to develop soft skills such as rhetoric, presentation techniques, ethics, and intercultural competence.  The demand for Reutlingen graduates in the business world is correspondingly high.  Around 85% of ESB students in recent years have already had firm job offers before graduation.
